Definition
Prestressed concrete PC wire is high-tensile steel wire manufactured to international standards, supplied in diameters from 4.0 mm to 7.0 mm with a tensile strength of 1570 MPa to 1860 MPa. It is produced to BS 5896, ASTM A648 and EN 10138 in indented or plain form with a bright or galvanized surface, and packed in coils of 500 kg to 1500 kg. Consistent wire drawing quality, precision diameter tolerance and excellent ductility and fatigue resistance make the wire dependable in precast and spun-concrete production.
